Joe Morgan
I’m originally from Chicago, landing in the Bay Area via Salt Lake City, Seattle, and LA. During the ‘80s and ‘90s, I worked in Chicago as a studio musician, singer/songwriter, and an actor performing on stages such as Wisdom Bridge, Victory Gardens, and The Chicago Dramatists Workshop. About the time I left the city to go west, I began performing and writing for tech tradeshows and films – with clients including Microsoft, Novell, NEC, and Sony – as well as acting for TV and film.
In scripts, I look to use the interplay between visuals and conversational dialogue that doesn’t simply fit together, but creates a counterpoint for an entertaining, sometimes comedic, and compelling result. My goal is realism, no matter how heightened the tone and style of the piece might be.
“Whether the project requires comedic wit or is strictly informational, Joe Morgan is always my first call. With a writing style that’s both charming and accessible, Joe’s scripts always hit their mark.” – Jason Armitage, producer, Studio B Films
“In dealing with a complex subject, Joe was able to add the human touch to an otherwise dry script. As a bonus, he always delivered on time.” – Jens Lindquist, producer, Envision Response, Seattle
“Joe’s our first choice – he always comes back with a great storyline, fresh ideas, and hilarious unexpected moments. While we rely on him for comedy and dialogue, we also totally trust him with more sincere tech and product content as well.” – Aaron Barry, creative director, Skycar Creative
